Characteristics of fuel cell

Fuel cell is related to the theories of chemical thermodynamics, electrochemistry, electrocatalysis, materials science, power system and automatic control. It has the advantages of high power generation efficiency and less environmental pollution.

Fuel cell is the most promising “high energy cell” in the current development of the battery. Its high combustion efficiency, no harmful gas emissions, no waste disposal, and no working noise and other characteristics are not achieved by other chemical cells.

Energy conversion efficiency is high; it directly converts the chemical energy of fuel into electrical energy without combustion process, so it is not limited by Carnot cycle. The fuel electric energy conversion efficiency of fuel cell system is 45% – 60%, while the efficiency of thermal power generation and nuclear power is about 30% – 40%.

The installation site is flexible; the fuel cell power station covers a small area and has a short construction period. The power of the power station can be assembled by the battery stack as required, which is very convenient. Fuel cell is suitable for centralized power station, distributed power station or independent power station of small area, factory and large building.

The fuel cell can change from the lowest power to the rated power in a few seconds.
